LGBTQ+
When we say Mal Amora is a LGBTQA+ brand we really mean it; our founder and head designer is a bisexual non-binary femme who enjoys looking like Bettie Page and James Dean simultaneously. Many members of the team behind the glitz and glamour are wonderful folk from the queer community and embody their truth with pride. We understand that the past hundred years have not been the kindest or most understanding of LGBTQA+ folk but we are keen to show a light on our shared history, break barriers and reclaim our voice. We might just be a lingerie brand, but we're here to disrupt and comfort, one pointy bullet bra at a time.
How We Help the Community
The lingerie started from a pair of tucking panties and a realization that there was nothing this fabulous, exquisite, and outrageously retro in trans lingerie. Then there was the second realisation our community didn't have a luxury lingerie label catering to our needs and embracing our various sexualities.
We tailor our briefs for all genders, with Feminine, Transition or Eithercut versions of our designs. Transition is specially designed for tucking for male to female clientele and Eithercut has been designed with non-binary folk or gender non-conforming presentation in mind. You will find our different cuts in the Boutique in which you can select your desired brief style.
Giving Back
We’re committed to putting 5% of our profits to LGBTQA+ charities such as the LGBT Foundation, MindOut & Stonewall UK with special limited-edition collections in June and July to celebrate Pride Month. These collections will have a higher portion of their profits going to charity as well as rainbow details and colours.
We are always on the lookout for non-binary and LGBTQA+ folk to collaborate and create with, whether modelling, art, illustration, or photography is your thing. If you’d like to submit your pin-up, burlesque or retro art and/or photography to be featured on our collectable postcards, please get in touch with us at info@mal-amora.com with the subject ‘Art Submission’.
